Speaking of, I've finished National Geographic Photography Field Guide: Secrets to Making Great Pictures - it has nice tips and it's a good primer. (I've read it in french - it was a gift - it's not the same book but close Guide pratique de la photo : Les photographes du National Geographic révèlent leurs secrets et leurs techniques)
